The markets have pared most of its initial gains and has slipped to touch the day's low at 18,040.The Sensex is at 18099, up 100 points while the Nify is up 28 points at 5437. The smallcap and the miudcap index too followed suite. The midcap index is at 0.7% and the smallcap index isup 0.8% respectively.
On the BSE sectoral indices, there was not much change. Metal leads the chart and is up 1.5%. Realty and Consumer Durables are stable at 1% each.IT down 1.1%, Teck sheding 0.5% and FMCG down 0.2% have all extended losses to continue in the red.

Steel Industries (SSI) to sell its Teesside Cast Products plant in the UK.It is also the top gainer on the Sensex and is trading at Rs 525.
The top gainers on the Sensex are ONGC (Rs 1350),Hindalco (Rs 167) up 2% each followed by Jindal Steel (Rs 701), Maruti Suzuki (Rs 1237), ICICI Bank (Rs 972) adding 1.5% each.
The top losers continue to be the IT scrips,TCS (Rs 844) and Infosys (Rs 2677) down 1% each. HDFC Bank, ITC and Wipro losing nearly 0.5% each round up the list.
Market breadth continue to be positive. 1893 stocks advanced while 803 declined.
