Markets off day's high

The Sensex has come off from its day's high and is now at 16,084, up 162 points. The NSE Nifty is at 4,810, up 53 points.

Markets have continued to hold firm. Sensex is up 206 points at 16,128.

Nifty is up 64 points at 4,821.

ICICI Bank has gained 3% at Rs 824. Jaiprakash Associates has added 2.5% to Rs 132.

ACC and Tata Steel have jumped 2.8% each to Rs 886 and Rs 532, respectively.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Hindalco, HDFC Bank, TCS and Tata Motors have advanced over 1% each.

Other gainers in the market include Wipro, DLF, Grasim, Infosys, ONGC and Reliance.

The NSE market breadth is positive. Over 900 stocks have advanced while 270 have decined.
