Markets off day's high

Markets are off the day's high.

The Sensex is now at 17,657 - down 44 points from the day's high of 17,701.

The Nifty is up 28 points at 5,296.

All sectoral indices are in the green, barring FMCG. The FMCG index has dropped 0.4% to 3,192. OIl & gas index continues to lead the gainer's chart following the fuel price hike. The index is now up 1.6% at 10,781.

ONGC has jumped 3% to Rs 1,303. Reliance Communications has gained 3% to Rs 198.

Reliance Infrastructure and Reliance have added 1.4% each to Rs 1,185 and Rs 1,077, respectively.

Tata Motors, Hindalco and Mahindra & Mahindra have added over 1% each.

Wipro and BHEL are up around 1% each at Rs 395 and Rs 2,475, respectively.

Jindal Steel has slipped 1.4% to Rs 634.

Maruti Suzuki and ITC have dropped 1% each to Rs 1,381 and Rs 299, respectively.

HDFC Bank, Hero Honda and ACC are the other major losers in the market today.
