Markets off day's high

After touching a day's high at 19,487, the markets have pared its initial gains and is at 19,333, up 125 points and the Nifty has added 29 points at 5,789. However, the broader markets i.e. the smallcap and the midcap index have slipped into the red, down 0.5% each.

On the BSE sectoral indices, there are no changes at the top. Auto index has pared its gains and is at 1.3% leading the chart followed by IT, Teck and Bankex. On the other hand, Metal, Consumer Durables and Realty has slipped into the negative and is at the bottom of the sectoral indices chart.

The draggers in the realty space are HDIL, Indiabulls Real Estate down 3% each, Parsvnath Developers, Sobha Dev and Unitech shedding 1% each.Yesterday's top gainer, Bankex continues its good run.The movers in this space are Kotak Mahindra Bank up 3%, HDFC Bank gaining 2% and Bank Of Baroda adding nearly 1% .

 

The gainers in the Sensex-30 scrips are Tata Motors and Sterlite up 3%, Maruti Suzuki, HDFC Bank gaining 2%,Wipro,Bharti Airtel, HDFC,Jaiprakash Associates adding 1% each.

On the losers side are Hindalco down 2%, ACC shedding 1.5%, Jindal Steel, Reliance Commnicaions and SBI losing 0.4% - 0.8%.

Market breadth is negative. Of the total 2886 shares traded, 1937 have declined while 851 have advanced.
