Markets off day's high, Realty index in red

The Sensex is now up 198 points at 15,586. The Nifty is up 41 points at 4,612.

SensexThe Sensex is off the day's high of 15,733. The index is now up 220 points at 15,608.

The BSE realty index has slipped into the negative zone and is now at 3,920 - down 1%.

The Nifty has dropped from its high and is now up 48 points at 4,620. The index has slipped 70 points from the day's high.

The market breadth is positive. Out of 2,732 stocks traded 1,418 have advanced while 1,195 have declined.

 

ONGC has surged 5.7% to Rs 1,163. Tata Motors and SBI have rallied 5% each to Rs 417 and Rs 1,813, respectively.

Sun Pharma has added 4.5% to Rs 1,197. Sterlite, Tata Steel, Hindustan Unilever and Reliance Infrastructure have gained 2% each.

Nalco, Idea Cellular and Ambuja Cements have added 3-5% each. However, Jindal Steel, BPCL and Punjab National Bank have dropped over 1% each.

ITC, Hindalco, HDFC, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance and Maruti Suzuki have also moved up.

However, Bharti Airtel has dropped 2% to Rs 414. Hero Honda has slipped 1.5% to Rs 1,614.
