Infosys, L&T are the major laggards, while ITC, Hindustan Unilever shore up.
The markets have recovered some of its losses, but are more or less in the same range. The Metal and IT stocks have cut losses, while FMCG stocks have added to gains.
The Sensex which touched a low of 17,733, is now down 82 points at 17,795.
The NSE Nifty is down 20 points at 5,333.
The European markets too have opened on a soft note. The FTSE 100, DAX and CAC are all down around 0.5% each.
Back home, Infosys and Larsen & Toubro are the major draggers in terms of points accounted for the fall. While the former accounts for 18 points loss, the latter has shaved off 15 points off the Sensex.
Reliance, Sterlite, ICICI Bank, SBI and Jindal Steel are the other major laggards in the Sensex.
On the other hand, ITC and Hindustan Unilever have added 14 points and seven points, respectively to the BSE benchmark.
