Markets on a high, heavyweights lead rally

Buoyancy in the market continues as steep buying across-the-board has lifted the Sensex to an intra-day high of 6,588. The Sensex, in current trades, has soared 87 points to 6,580. The Nifty, too, is on an upmove with a surge of 25 points to 2,061.

Reliance has advanced 3.21% (Rs 18) to Rs 563, and Satyam is up 2.82% (Rs 11) at Rs 420.

ICICI Bank has logged 3.18% gains (Rs 12) to Rs 405. While SBI has moved up 1.63% (Rs 11) to Rs 668, HDFC Bank is up a rupee at Rs 546.

HPCL has flared up 5.18% (Rs 16) to Rs 322.

Bharti has moved up 4% (Rs 8) to Rs 215. While BHEL, too, has jumped 4% (Rs 31) to Rs 798, Hindalco has scaled up 3.98% (Rs 52) to Rs 1,345. L&T is up 2.36% (Rs 23) at Rs 1,019.

Infosys (up Rs 14 to Rs 2,239), Wipro (down Rs 3 to Rs 668) and Zee (down Rs 2 to Rs 137), however, are still trading at subdued levels.
