Markets have slipped into the red following cues from the global bourses. The Sensex is flat at 18,813 - up around 20 points. Nifty is at 5,667 - up eight points.
U.S. stocks fell Thursday, with technology stocks weighing on the broader market following lackluster earnings from Oracle. The Dow slipped 90 points to 14,421. Nasdaq and S&P shed almost a per cent each.
In Asia this morning, the Nikkei has slumped 1.2% at 12,481 on overseas losses and rise Of Yen. Seoul Composite has also slipped marginally.

Auto, banking and metal shares have gained this morning. The auto index has added 0.8% at 10,196. Metal and capuital goods indices are also in the green - up 0.5% each.
However, IT shares have slipped in morning trades. BSE IT index is down 1% at 6,770.
Bajaj Auto has added 1.5% to Rs 1782. Coal India has jumped 1.3% at Rs 303. Jindal Steel, Tata Motors and Tata Power are up in trades.
Bharti Airtel has slumped once again after yesterday's good show. The stock is down 1.8% at Rs 293. Infosys, Cipla, Sun Pharma and TCS are in the red. SBI from teh banking space is down 0.5% at Rs 2,108.
BSE market breadth is weak. Out of 1,334 stocks traded, 768 shares have declined while 515 shares have advanced.
