The markets have pared gains in the last one-hour or so. The Sensex is now up 130 points at 20,296, while the Nifty has gained 35 points at 6101. The broader markets too have pared some of its gains with the smallcap index gaining 0.9% and the midcap index adding 0.7%.
On the BSE sectoral indices, Consumer Durables is up 1.9% and leads the pack followed by Metal, Realty trading up 1% each. However, FMCG which was the least gainer throughout the trade has slipped into the red, down 0.02%.
Hindalco up nearly 5% followed by ACC, Sterlite gaining 3% are the top gainers on the Sensex. TCS, Cipla adding 2% each are the other prominent gainers.
Wipro down 4% is the top loser on the Sensex. ITC shedding 0.6%, HDFC Bank, Infosys losing 0.2% round off the losers list.
The market breadth continues to be positive. Of the total 3007 stocks traded, 1836 stocks have advanced while 1063 have declined.
