After touching a high of 20,033, the markets have slipped to trade in a range of mere 50 points. The Sensex is trading at 19,986 gaining three points while the Nifty continues to trade in the red at 6,020, down six points.However, the broader markets have inched ahead. The smallcap index is up 0.3% and the midcap index gained 0.3% as compared to the benchmark index underperforming at 0.06% in the negative.
Among the sectoral indices on BSE, IT, Oil & Gas, Consumer Durables up 0.4% each laeds the pack.However, Metal, Bankex, FMCG and Realty continue to trade in the red.
The gainers in the Sensex - 30 stocks are Tata Power, ONGC, Wipro and Cipla up 1% each. NTPC, Maruti Suzuki, Infosys gaining 0.6% each are the other significant gainers.
Sterlite down 2.5% followed by HDFC shedding 2%, SBI,Tata Steel and HDFC Bank losing 1% each are the top losers on the Sensex.
Market breadth continues to be positive. 1362 stocks have advanced while 1197 have edclined.
