Markets have been trading in a range. The Sensex is now at 17,584 - up 74 points.
The Nifty is up 27 points at 5,271.
ONGC has rallied 3.8% to Rs 1,241. Sterlite has gained 2.6% at Rs 885.
Reliance Communications has added 2% to Rs 179. Reliance, ICICI Bank and Grasim have advanced 1.5% each.
Mahindra & Mahindra, ACC, Jaiprakash Associates, BHEL and Tata Steel have moved up around 1% each.
However, Tata Power has dropped 1.5% to Rs 1,466. TCS, Hindustan Unilever and HDFC have also slipped in noon trades.
The NSE market breadth is positive. Around 1,005 stocks have advanced while 265 have declined.
