Markets recover; breadth fairly -ve

The NSE Nifty has rebounded into the positive zone is now up 14 points 4,063.

Ranbaxy has slumped 9.5% to Rs 481.

Infosys has plunged 4.7% to Rs 1,597, and Satyam has tumbled 3.7% to Rs 428. TCS has shed 2.8% at Rs 777, and Wipro has slipped 2% to Rs 404.

HDFC Bank has dropped nearly 4% to Rs 1,026. Jaiprakash Associates has declined 2.5% to Rs 153.

HDFC has slipped 2.3% to Rs 1,955. DLF and Hindalco have decliend 1.8% each to Rs 445 and Rs 152, respectively.

BHEL and ICICI Bank are down 1% each at Rs 1,507 and Rs 585, respectively.

 

ONGC has surged 3% to Rs 875. Tata Motors has rallied 2.3% to Rs 409.

NTPC and Tata Steel have moved up 2% each to Rs 165 and Rs 679, respectively.

SBI, Hindustan Unilever and Larsen & Toubro have advanced 1.7% each to Rs 1,244, Rs 218 and Rs 2,396, respectively.

Reliance Infrastructure, Reliance Communications and Ambuja Cements are up over 1% each at Rs 811, Rs 443 and Rs 81, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 1,989 stocks traded so far, 1,146 have declined, 785 have advanced and 58 are unchanged.
