Markets recover from low

Markets have recovered from its lows.

The Sensex had a subdued start on global cues and slipped to a low of 17,059. The index has now recovered and is flat at 17,098.

The Nifty is at 5,113 - down 11 points.

Most indices are in red. The BSE metal and realty indices are leading the losers list. However, the IT index has added 1.2% to 5,332.

Tata Motors has shed 2.6% to Rs 776. Hero Honda has dropped 1.3% to Rs 1,887.

Realty stocks - Jaiprakash Associates and DLF have slipped 1.7% each to Rs 145 and Rs 312, respectively.

 

Metal stocks are in red. Tata Steel and Hindalco have slipped 1.2% each to Rs 613 and Rs 164, respectively. Sterlite is down marginally at Rs 808.

Meanwhile, Wipro has gained 2% at Rs 711. TCS and Infosys have added 1.3% each to Rs 773 and Rs 2,692, respectively.

Maruti has advanced 1.6% to 1,500. Other gainers in the market include HDFC, Mahindra & Mahindra and HDFC Bank.

The BSE market breadth is failry negative. Out of 2,352 stocks traded, 1,237 have declined while 1,043 have advanced.
