Markets recover marginally

The markets continue to trade in the negative zone, with the Sensex shedding 171 points at 19,953 and Nifty losing 53 points at 6009

TCS, NTPC and Hero Honda are the gainers among the Sensex stock. Meanwhile, ACC is the top loser, down 2.81% to Rs 970, followed by ITC, J P Associates, L&T and HDFC, down more than 2% each.

All the sectoral indices are in the red. FMCG is the top loser among the sectoral indices, down 70 points or 1.92% at 3538 points, followed by Realty, Capital Goods, Metal and Consumer Durables indices.

Godrej Consumer Products leads the FMCG losers chart. The stock is trading at Rs 382, down 2.8%, followed by ITC, Hindustan Unilever, Mcleod Russel and Tata Global Beverages.

 

 

Among the realty stocks, Parsvanath Developers is the top loser, followed by Anant Raj Industries, Orbit Corp, Sobha Developers and Phoenix Mills.

The broader markets are in line with the benchmark indices; the mid-cap index is down 1.17% or 97 points at 8214 and the small-cap index is down 80 points at 10,548.

Chambal Fertilizers is the top loser among the Mid-cap stocks down 5.8% at Rs 87 followed by Unichem Labs, Carborundum Universal, Manapuram General Finance and Leasing and Info Edge India down more than 4.2% each.

LGS Global, Sujana Metals, Subhkam Capital, Bianani Industries and Uflex are the top losersw among the Small-cap stocks down more than 5% each.

The market breadth is extremely negative; out of 2855 stocks traded on the BSE, 1818 stocks are declining and 946 stocks are advancing.
