Markets see dull trades

The markets so far have traded on a flat note, albiet a positive bias in the past hour of trade, with the Sensex up 67 points at 20,127, and the Nifty up 19 points at 6,019.

Top gainers on the BSE benchmark index were Sterlite Industries up 3% at Rs 181, followed by Reliance Communications up 2% at Rs 130, and DLF at Rs 289 up 1%.

Laggards on the Sensex were Hero Honda down 2% at Rs 1,933, a considerable dip post the scrip's fantastic rally on Monday, and IT stocks Wipro at Rs 478 and TCS at Rs 1,144, both down 1%.

Realty continued to rule the sectoral chart up 2% at 2,820. Gainers in this space were Peninsula Land up 4% at Rs 60, followed by Mahindra Lifespaces up 3% at Rs 398, and Indiabulls Real Estate up 2% at Rs 136.

Metal stocks were moving positively, and the index was up a little over 1% at Rs 17,325, followed by the PSU index, which gained almost 1% at 9,421.

THe BSE IT and Teck indices were trading negatively. IT stocks slipped to lose nearly a percent at 6,646. Losers on the index were Wipro at Rs 480, TCS at Rs 1,147, and Mphasis at Rs 662, all down 1%.
