Markets set to end on a tepid note

Consolidation post yesterday's strong surge and lack of significant gloabal cues have led to a rather dull trading session today. The markets look all set to end on a tepid note.

The Sensex so far has swung in a range of 95 points, and is now up 29 points at 18,110. The NSE Nifty has gained five points at 5437.

The BSE Bankex continues to remain the stand out gainer, up 1% at 11,933. The Realty index, which, also was up 1% in morning trades is in red now. The Capital Goods and IT indices are the prominent losers.

Bharti Airtel has surged nearly 3% to Rs 327. ICICI Bank has rallied 2.5% to Rs 962.

Hero Honda has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 1,860. Reliance and HDFC are the other prominent gainers.

Reliance Communications has shed 2.5% at Rs 174. Larsen & Toubro and Mahindra & Mahindra have declined around 1.5% each to Rs 1,787 and Rs 652, respectively.

Jindal Steel, Reliance Infrastructure, TCS, ITC and Infosys are the other notable losers.

The market breadth is almost neutral - 1,452 stocks have advanced, while 1,487 stocks have declined on the BSE so far.
