The Sensex, which propelled to a high of 6,643 in early trades, is now up 29 points at 6,618 following paring of gains in select old and new economy stocks. The Nifty is up seven points at 2,069. ONGC and Reliance are trading with a per cent gain each at Rs 815 (up Rs 6) and Rs 540 (up Rs 5), respectively. HLL is down a rupee at Rs 144. ITC is down Rs 2 at Rs 1,297. SBI has added Rs 7 to Rs 666. HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are still up a per cent each at Rs 562 and Rs 380, respectively. Zee has logged 2.63% gains (Rs 4) to Rs 154. Grasim (up Rs 6 to Rs 1,360) and ACC (up Rs 2 to Rs 369) are trading with steady gains. Gujarat Ambuja is up a tad at Rs 441. Hindalco has moved up 1.51% (Rs 21) to Rs 1,384. While L&T has gained a per cent (Rs 10) to Rs 1,030, Tisco has added 1.29% (Rs 5) to Rs 417. BHEL at Rs 865 (up Rs 7) and Tata Power at Rs 421 (up Rs 3) are also trading with steady gains. Ramco System has shot up 11% (Rs 45) to Rs 417. While Morepen Lab has notched up 7.21% gains to Rs 12, Mukand has added 6.54% to Rs 69. Hind Zinc, Ballarpur Industries and Swaraj Mazda are up in a range of 5-6%. |
