Markets steady over 18K

Markets have continued yesterday's gaining streak. The Sensex is up 113 points at 18,099. The index had earlier touched a high of 18,168.

The Nifty is up 35 points at 5,435.

BSE realty and bankex has gained over 1% each to 3,513 and 11,422, respectively.

HDFC has jumped 2.2% to Rs 3,131. DLF has added 2% to Rs 322.

HDFC Bank has gained 1.8% at Rs 2,103. Hindalco and Reliance Infrastructure have advanced 1.5% each. Bharti Airtel, SBI, ACC and Tata Steel are the other stocks who have gained over 1%.

TCS, Tata Motors, Hero Honda and Cipla are up in morning trades as well.

However, Infosys is soft following dissapointing results yesterday. The stock is now down marginally at Rs 2,785.

BSE market breadth is positive. Out of 2,570 stocks traded, 1,697 have advanced while 772 have declined.
