Markets still weak; ICICI, Rel Infra down 6%

The NSE Nifty is down 38 points at 4,098.

ICICI Bank and Reliance Infrastructure have slumped nearly 6% each to Rs 615 and Rs 836, respectively.

ACC and Tata Motors have plunged 5% each to Rs 550 and Rs 427, respectively. HDFC has tumbled nearly 4% to Rs 1,972.

DLF and Grasim have shed over 3.5% each at Rs 409 and Rs 1,875, respectively.

Maruti, Reliance Communications and Hindustan Unilever have slipped over 3% each to Rs 624, Rs 458 and Rs 202, respectively.

Satyam has surged 2.5% to Rs 451. Hindalco has moved up 1.8% to Rs 142.

ONGC and Jaiprakash Assocaites have gained 1.7% each at Rs 844 and Rs 145, respectively.

 

Infosys has advanced 1.5% to Rs 1,732. Wipro, BHEL and ITC are up over 1% each at Rs 448, Rs 1,396 and Rs 186, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly negative - out of 2,504 stocks traded so far, 1,737 have declined, 709 have advanced and 58 are unchanged.
