Markets surge; Sensex crosses 18K

Markets continued to surged in morning trades. The Sensex touched a high of 18,010. The index is now up 154 points at 17,987.

Nifty is at its highest in over two years at 5,395 - up 43 points.

All sectoral indices are in green with realty and IT indices leading the good run. The IT index is up 1.2% at 5,547 ahead of the results season starting tomorrow with Infosys results.

Tata Motors has jumped 2.3% to Rs 788. DLF and HDFC Bank have gained 2% each at Rs 302 and rs 2,045, respectively.

Sterlite has added 2% to rs 171. TCS, HDFC and NTPC have advanced 1.5% each to Rs 201, Rs 3,012 and Rs 788, respectively.

Hindalco, BHEL, Infosts, Wipro and ICICI Bank have advanced over 1% each.
