Markets surge to higher levels

The BSE Sensex is now at 15,221, up 378 points. The NSE Nifty has added 120 points to 4,519.

NSEThe NSE Nifty is exhibiting sideways and quite a lacklustre movement for the last few hours. The index is now at 4,471, up 73 points.

Sterlite has gained 5.5% at Rs 634 and Hindalco has advanced 5% to Rs 90.

Reliance Infrastruture, SAIL and Power Grid have increased around 4% each to Rs 1,135, Rs 173 and Rs 113, respectively.

Tata Motors, Jindal Steel and Maruti are up 3.5% each at Rs 337, Rs 2,888 and Rs 1,257, respectively. DLF, Idea, HCL, Mahindra & Mahindra, Unitech and ACC are up 3-3.5% each.

 

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel has slipped 2.5% to Rs 802 and Siemens has dropped 2% to Rs 453.

Meanwhile the BSE Sensex is at 15,066, up 233 points.

The market breadth is fairly negative- out of 2,601 shares traded, 918 have declined and 1,598 have advanced so far on the BSE.

The BSE Consumer Durables, Metal and Realty indices are up above 3.5% each.
