Markets trade in green, breadth -ve

Markets have extended gains in mid-noon trades on the back of unabated buying in realty stocks. PSU and banking stocks also joined the up move. The Sensex which touched a low of 19,218, rallied to a high of 19,610, but has now pared gains and is up 136 points at 19,600.

The NSE Nifty has added 40 points to 5870.

Bharti Airtel and DLF are the top gainers, up 5% each at Rs 356 and Rs 302, respectively. Tata Motors has rallied 4% to Rs 1,234.

Jindal Steel and SBI have surged 3% each to Rs 641 and Rs 2,965, respectively.

Jaiprakash Associates and BHEL have moed up 2.8% each to Rs 110 and Rs 2,215, respectively.

NTPC, Reliance Infrastructure and Hindalco are the other major gainers.

The BSE Realty index has surged 5% 2,903. Indiabulls Real Estate has zoomed over 10% to Rs 156. Sobha Developers has soared over 7% to Rs 329. Orbit Corporation, Peninsula Land, DB Realty, Anant Raj Industries and HDIL are the other major gainers.

The market breadth however continues to remain negative - out of 2,014 stocks traded so far, 1,153 have declined and 804 have advanced.
