Markets trading flat in opening trades, FMCG weighs

Markets have shrugged off firm Asian cues and profit taking was seen in FMCG majors ITC and Hindustan Unilever.

Markets opened flat with negative bias on Wednesday, shrugging of firm Asian cues, weighed down by profit taking in FMCG majors ITC and Hindustan Unilever.

At 9:16am Sensex was down 55 points at 18,985 and the Nifty was down 18 points at 5,730.

In the Sensex pack HDFC, HDFC Bank and Infosys were among the losers while TCS, L&T, Tata Power and ICICI Bank were among the gainers in opening trades.
