The Sensex is now quoting at 17621, higher by 62 points and the Nifty is at 5275, up 15 points.

The markets have build on their gains in the past one hour. The Sensex is now quoting at 17655, higher by 90 points and the Nifty is at 5285, up 25 points. The mid-cap and mall-cap indices have also gained nearly 1% each at 6779 and 8501 respectively.
Auto stocks continue to hog the limelight in mid-morning trades, constituting three of the top four gainers on the BSE. M&M retains the No 1 spot and is now up 2.4% at Rs 1080. Maruti has strengthened by 2% at Rs 1400, HDFC has appreciated by 1.9% at Rs 2636 and Tata Motors has added 1.9% at Rs 739. And index heavyweight Reliance Industries is up 1.5% at Rs 1109.
On the losers side, Bharti Airtel is down 1.5% at Rs 308, Infosys has shed 1.2% at Rs 2772 and DLF has lost 0.8% at Rs 296.
The market breadth is strong. Out of 2682 stocks traded on the BSE thus far, there are 1555 advancing stocks as against 1029 declines.
