Maruti Suzuki is trading lower on the bourses as the Manesar facility remains completely shut down for the 10th day. The stock is quoting at Rs 1,219, lower by Rs 10 or 0.9%, on the BSE. The shares had opened at Rs 1,223 and have touched a high of Rs 1,228 and a low of Rs 1,207 thus far.

Around 2,000 workers at the plant have been on strike since June 4, resulting in a loss of about Rs 390 crore till Saturday.

The striking workers are demanding the recognition of a new union -- Maruti Suzuki Employees Union -- formed by those working at the Manesar plant, among other things.

Maruti Suzuki is the country's largest car-maker.
