The Maruti Suzuki scrip surged 6.44 per cent to Rs 1,295.55 on healthy quarterly numbers. The company reported a 25.3 per cent jump in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 to Rs 583.54 crore. Net sales during the first quarter soared by 34.01 per cent. Maruti had sold 2.27 lakh vehicles in the first quarter, up 17.73 per cent, compared with the previous corresponding period. The stock opened at Rs 1,220 and made an intraday high of Rs 1,305.5. Total traded volumes were 5.24 lakh shares on Thursday.
