The government today announced a package of policy measures aimed at boosting sugar exports and further liberalising the sugar market.
It includes lifting the ban on the export of raw sugar, changing the free-sale sugar release quota mechanism, enhancing incentives for exports, and creating market conditions conducive for the smooth operation of forward trading in the commodity.
