Medium sugar declines on sluggish demand

Medium sugar prices declined modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today on subdued demand from stockists and retailers, amid adequate stock positions.

Meanwhile, Small sugar variety witnessed a mixed pattern of trading owing to alternate bouts of buying and selling. Medium Sugar (M-30) fell by Rs 5/12 per quintal to Rs 2,798/2,906 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 2,810/2,911. 

Small sugar (S-30) were quoted at Rs 2,750/2,825 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,761/2,815.

The following are today's closing rates per quintal, with the previous rates in brackets:  

Medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,798/2,906 (Rs 2,810/ 2,911) and Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,750/2,825 (Rs 2,761/2,815)
