The prices on the London Metal Exchange remained subdued in the beginning of 2005 with higher oil prices and a stronger dollar. However the prices would be expected to rise in the near future.
 
The share price of Hindalco dipped 7.5 per cent from Rs 1,331.45 on January 1, 2005, to today's close of Rs 1,231.45 on the Bombay Stock exchange (BSE).
 
During the same period the National Aluminium share decreased 14.78 per cent from Rs 181.95 to Rs 155.05, while Madras Aluminium dipped 0.15 per cent from Rs 197.45 to Rs 197.15.
