Mentha oil futures prices gained Rs 3.90 to Rs 706.50 per kg in futures market today as traders created fresh positions, driven by pick up in demand at spot markets.
Restricted arrivals in the spot markets also influenced mentha futures prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery July month gained 3.90, or 0.56 per cent to Rs 706.50 per kg with an open interest of 4553 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in August month edged up by Rs 3.40, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 731 per kg in 2,354 lots.
Marketmen said fresh buying by traders following pick up in spot demand and lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh pushed up mentha oil prices at futures trade.
