Supported by rising industrial demand and restricted arrivals in the spot market, mentha oil continued to rise for the third straight day in futures trade today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April surged by Rs 68.70, or 3.46%, to Rs 2,051.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 1,768 lots.

February mentha oil jumped up by Rs 52.30, or 2.69%, to Rs 1,995 per kg, with an open interest of 328 lots.

Analysts said rising demand from pharmaceutical units against lower arrivals from producing regions mainly led to the upsurge in mentha oil futures.
