Mentha oil continued to slide for the third straight day, losing Rs 6.60 to Rs 1,572.40 per kg in futures trading today as traders reduced their holdings after decline in demand in the spot market.

Adequate supplies in the physical market following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February shed Rs 6.60, or 0.42% to Rs 1,572.40 per kg in business turnover of 415 lots.

The March contract traded lower by Rs 4.10, or 0.28% to Rs 1,590.10 per kg in 66 lots.

Analysts said traders reduced their holdings after fall in demand in the spot market.
