Mentha oil prices fell for the third consecutive day by losing Rs 24.30 to Rs 1,320 per kg in futures trade today owing to sluggish demand from pharmaceutical units in the spot market.

Expectations of rise in arrivals in the market from the major producing regions also kept pressure on the prices, marketmen said.

At the MCX, mentha oil for delivery in July fell by Rs 24.30, or 1.81%, to Rs 1,320 per kg, with a business turnover of 363 lots.

The June contract declined by Rs 23.80, or 1.80%, to Rs 1,301 per kg, with an open interest of 839 lots.
