Mentha oil futures prices today traded lower by Rs 2.20 to Rs 1,250 per kg as speculators booked profits, driven by subdued spot demand.

Adequate supplies following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced mentha oil prices.

At the MCX, mentha oil for delivery in July shed Rs 2.20, or 0.18%, to Rs 1,250 per kg in a business turnover of 52 lots.

The June contract traded lower by Rs 1.10, or 0.09%, to Rs 1,236 per kg in 156 lots.

The decline in mentha oil futures was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators following weak trend at spot market on sluggish demand, anlysts said.
