Mentha oil down 0.28% on profit-booking

Speculators offload positions amid sluggish demand from consuling industries

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices declined by 0.28 per cent to Rs 827.10 per kg in futures market today as speculators indulged in profit-booking at prevailing levels amid sluggish demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks in the physical market on increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in January lost Rs 2.30, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 827.10 per kg in business turnover of 79 lots.

The February contract shed Rs 2, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 839 per kg in 19 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices at futures trade was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels amid sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
