Mentha oil prices fell further by 0.55% to Rs 860.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions amid low spot demand and increased arrivals from producing belts.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October fell Rs 4.80, or 0.55%, to Rs 860.50 per kg, with a business volume of 351 lots.
Similarly, mentha for delivery in September traded Rs 4.60, or 0.54%, lower at Rs 846.50 per kg with a trading volume of 164 lots.
Traders said the fall in mentha prices at futures market was mostly due to subdued demand at spot markets and increased arrivals from producing region, Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
