Mentha oil prices fell 0.6% to Rs 864.70 per kg in futures trade today on profit booking by speculators at existing higher levels amid increased arrivals in the physical markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange market, mentha oil for delivery in September fell Rs 5.30, or 0.6%, to Rs 864.70 per kg, with a business volume of 269 lots.
Similarly, mentha for delivery in October traded Rs 5.20, or 0.58%, lower at Rs 879 per kg with a trading volume of 300 lots.
Traders said the fall in mentha prices at futures market was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators at higher levels amid increased arrivals from producing regions of Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
