Mentha oil down by 0.6% on profit-booking

Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing region put pressure on mentha oil

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Mentha oil prices moved down by 0.67% to Rs 867.70 per kg in futures market today as speculators booked profits at prevailing higher levels, driven by subdued demand from consuming industries in spot market.

Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing region also put pressure on mentha oil.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange market, mentha oil for delivery in September declined by Rs 5.50 or 0.67% to Rs 867.70 per kg in business turnover of 294 lots.

Likewise, oil for delivery in October traded lower by Rs 5.30 or 0.60% to Rs 882.30 per kg in 83 lots.

Market analysts said the fall in mentha prices at futures market was mostly attributed to profit-booking by speculators driven by subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market and increased arrivals from producing regions.
