Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 35.20 to Rs 2,018 per kg in futures trading today, as speculators booked profits at prevailing levels, sluggish demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March shed Rs 35.20, or 1.71% to Rs 2,018 per kg in business turnover of 3,239 lots.
The April contract lost Rs 24.30, or 1.18%, to Rs 2,038.20 per kg in 835 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing levels, subdued demand in the spot market mainly led to fall in mentha oil futures prices.
