Mentha oil extends gain as demand picks up

Mentha oil prices gained by Rs 2.50, or 0.33 per cent to Rs 758 per kg in futures trade today on rising demand in the spot market against less arrivals from producing centres.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for August contract rose by Rs 2.50, or 0.33 per cent, to Rs 758 per kg, with an open interest of 1,301 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in June contract gained Rs 1.20, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 722.60 per kg, with a business volume of 2,045 lots.

Traders said, increased domestic and exports demand, against restricted arrivals from the producing regions led to a rise in mentha oil prices at futures trade.
