Mentha oil prices extended gains by adding Rs 21.80 to 1,210 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in creating positions on account of good demand from consuming industries and lower arrivals.

Increased domestic as well as exports demand amid of reports of lower production this season on late rains also supported the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the November contract for mentha oil rose by Rs 21.80, or 1.83%, to Rs 1,210 per kg, with a business volume of 129 lots.

Marketmen attributed the rise in mentha oil at futures trade to pick-up in overseas and domestic demand at spot markets amid lower arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
