Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 10.30 to Rs 869.10 per kg in futures market today as traders indulged in profit-booking at existing levels amid fall in spot market demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October month contract declined by Rs 10.30 or 1.17 per cent to Rs 869.10 per kg in a business volume of 614 lots.

Similarly, the delivery in November month contract eased by Rs 10.30 or 1.15 per cent to Rs 879.70 per kg, in business turnover of 157 lots.

December month contract fell by Rs 9.50 or 1.05 per cent to Rs 892 per kg in 52 lots.

The fall in mentha oil prices was mostly due to profit-taking by speculators and weak demand in spot markets, traders said.
