Mentha oil futures prices declined by Rs 4.70, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 824 per kg in futures market today on reduced offtake by speculators and fall in demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, mentha oil for November-month delivery fell by Rs 4.70, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 824 per kg, with an open interest of 1,503 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in September lost Rs 4.40, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 801.80 per kg, with an open interest of 5,603 lots.

Market analysts said weak trend at physical markets due to sluggish demand kept pressure on the mentha futures here.

Increased arrivals from the producing regions also influenced the mentha prices, they said.
