Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 10.50 to Rs 874.70 per kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June declined by Rs 10.50, or 1.18% to Rs 874.70 per kg, in a business volume of 161 lots..

Similarly, the delivery in July eased by Rs 8.70, or 0.99% to Rs 867.10 per kg, with a trade turnover of 29 lots.

Meanwhile, the mentha futures for delivery in August fell by Rs 8.70, or 0.99% to Rs 870 per kg in 8 lots.

Analysts said the fall in mentha oil prices was mostly due to profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend at spot market on subdued demand.

Sentiments continued to remain moderately bearish on expected rise in production this year, they added.
