Mentha oil prices declined by Rs 3.10 to Rs 863.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in profit-booking at existing levels, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June declined by Rs 3.10, or 0.36% to Rs 863.10 per kg, with a business turnover of 130 lots.

July mentha oil shed 0.60 paise, or 0.07% to Rs 858.80 per kg in 36 lots.

Traders said profit-booking by speculators due to a subdued demand in the spot market mainly led to decline in mentha oil futures prices

Adequate stocks availability following increased arrivals from producing belts also put pressure on the prices, they added.
