Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 2.30, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 765.60 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators booked profits, driven by fall in demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks positions, followed by increased arrivals in the physical markets also kept pressure on the mentha prices at futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, mentha oil for August-month fell by Rs 2.30, or 0.30 per cent, to Rs 765.60 per kg, with an open interest of 4,479 lots.

Similarly, the oil for Sepetember lost Rs 1.90, or 0.24 per cent, to Rs 777.90 per kg, with an open interest of 5,123 lots.

Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators at existing higher levels and fall in demand in spot markets mainly led to a decline in mentha oil prices at futures market here.
