Mentha oil futures extended its previous gains by adding Rs 5.40 to Rs 1,133 per kg today, following sustained demand from pharmaceutical units, amid tight arrivals from producing regions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for August delivery rose by Rs 5.40, or 0.48%, to Rs 1,133 per kg, with a business turnover of 660 lots.
September delivery moved up by Rs 2.60, or 0.23%, to Rs 1,140.50 per kg, with a trade volume of 182 lots.
Market analysts said besides rising demand from pharmaceutical units against tight arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh, mainly pushed up mentha oil futures prices.
