Press Trust of India New Delhi

Mentha oil prices extended losses and lost Rs 12 to Rs 814 per kg in futures trading today on sustained profit-taking by speculators, driven by a weak spot market trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in June fell by Rs 12, or 1.45%, to Rs 814 per kg, with a business turnover of 407 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in July declined by Rs 8.80, or 1.07%, to Rs 815.50 per kg in 206 lots.

Market analysts said continued profit-taking by speculators, driven by weak spot markets trend on subdued demand mainly kept pressure on the mentha oil prices.

Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from Chandousi in Uttar Pradesh also influenced the mentha oil prices, they added.
