Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 18.80 to Rs 1126.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions driven by a weak trend at the spot markets.

Reduced offtake by pharmaceutical units also influenced the mentha prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha for December month fell by Rs 18.80, or 1.64 per cent to Rs 1126.90 per kg in single lot.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in January month declined by Rs 17.30, or 1.50 per cent to Rs 1136.30 per kg with a business turnover of 4 lots.

Traders said adequate stocks position in the physical market against reduced offtake mainly pulled down the prices.

They said lack of enquiries from pharmaceutical units too put pressure on the prices.
