Mentha oil prices fell by Rs 13.80 to Rs 1,151.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in booking-profits, driven by a sluggish demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the mentha oil prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in the month of March fell by Rs 13.80, or 1.18 per cent to Rs 1,151.80 per kg in single lot.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in April contract lost Rs 3.70, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 1,167 per kg in a single lot.

Traders attributed the fall in mentha oil futures prices to profit booking by speculators and sluggish demand in the spot market.
